The Danish Design Association (DDA) is the trade association for the Danish design companies.
DDA was founded in 2008 by a group of design companies and has since aided the development, professionalization and internationalization of the design business in Denmark.
DDA now represents the interests of more than 90 companies by continuously making sure that design is part of the political agenda. It is our mission to create one network that gathers all companies working within design and design management.
We work continuously to implement the awareness of design as not merely being aesthetic styling but also as being a unique strategic tool, that creates innovation and product differentiation, as well as improving the competitive advantage of companies as well as the public sector.
We professionalize the design industry by providing resources, tools, and business networks that aids growth, fair competition, and development. In addition we create international connections and networks to promote the Danish design thinking globally.
DDA develops courses to aid the continuous education in the design industry. We facilitate network meetings that focus on business models, project management, development and growth. We gather leaders from ministries, corporations, the trade, and the industry to focus on the potential of design and to set the agenda for the future possibilities of design.
Among a number of initiatives DDA initiated the knowledge-sharing network Copenhagen Co-creation '09, the purpose of which is to address business issues of significant global interest by developing new practices within co-creation and design.
DDA is a member of the Danish Government's advisory board on design, of INDEX:'s advisory board, and of the Strategic Design Consortium at Aarhus School of Architecture.
